Very Good Basil!

A BREEAM Domestic Refurbishment certification has been achieved for Basil House, Portland Street, Manchester. The scheme has been awarded a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating in accordance with Manchester City Council’s planning policy requirements.

The Beech Design and Build team have worked hard to produce a highly desirable building which retains the historic character of the local area. Basil House accommodates thirty-seven luxury apartments across the upper floors with retail units occupying the ground floor area.

Element Sustainability have been involved in the project since the initial project design stages, providing support at the planning stage by completing a holistic appraisal of the scheme within the Environmental Standard Statement. Element Sustainability worked closely with the design team to ensure all client priorities were incorporated within the proposals and to ensure the BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating was achieved in the preferred and most cost-effective manner.
