Single-Use Plastics and World Environment Day

Two of our Sustainability Consultants travelled down to Sky Central last week to present the findings of our Single-Use Plastics Monitoring and Reduction schemes. Element Sustainability have been working with Sky UK and their stakeholders to monitor and reduce Single-Use Plastics (SUPs) during the construction phase of their refurbishment and fit-out projects in Leeds, Brentwood and Cardiff as part of Sky’s Ocean Rescue initiative.

It was fitting that the presentation fell on world environment day as we discussed the global issue of plastic waste and how Sky UK, with their forward thinking, are leading the way to achieve their goal of eliminating all applications of SUPs from their operations by 2020. We are delighted to be continuing our relationship with Sky UK and supporting them with monitoring and reducing their SUPs waste on their fitout projects which includes a new instruction for their project at Stockport.

It is fantastic to be part of this Single-Use Plastic reduction movement and also assisting Sky in meeting its onerous target of eliminating SUPs throughout their operations by 2020. Stacey – Senior Sustainability Consultant.
