We are pleased to confirm that Sky’s new contact centre in Leeds has been BREEAM certified, achieving a ‘Very Good’ rating in accordance with Sky UK’s in-house target. The scheme comprised the fit-out of the fourth floor of the already certified to BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ Central Square building in Leeds.
The project has been assessed using the 2014 BREEAM Refurbishment and Fit-out assessment methodology. The proposals were analysed by our BREEAM assessor who applied their knowledge and experience to ensure compliance.
Element Sustainability also provided a package of supplementary services to demonstrate the health and wellbeing benefits of the scheme for the building users. These services were as follows:
- Completion of a thermal comfort study,
- Prepared an indoor air quality plan; and,
- Daylight factor calculations.
In addition to the BREEAM assessment services, we piloted Sky’s Single Use Plastic scheme, monitoring the use of Single Use Plastics and aiming to reduce the scheme’s impact on the environment in line with Sky’s Sustainability Guidelines.
“It has been a pleasure to work with the design and construction team from the initial design stages through to project completion” – Stacey Downes (Senior Sustainability Consultant and BREEAM Assessor).
