Latest Instruction – Design Appraisal and Compliance Calculations

3rd August 2012

Element Sustainability has been appointed by developer Sillavan Developments Ltd to provide Part L compliance consultancy services for their latest Salford scheme.  The Sillavan Way development will comprise 327 residential apartments accommodated in four accommodation blocks on brown field site in the heart of the city.

This appointment follows Element’s earlier involvement with the project supporting the successful Detailed Planning Application through the provision of Energy and Sustainability Statements.  Early design input and energy demand assessments supplied by Element enabled the technical team to establish a feasible and viable means of significantly reducing the dwelling’s carbon dioxide emission rate beyond the current regulatory requirement in accordance with local planning policy targets.   The scheme which is currently under construction benefits from many sustainable attributes and boasts a host of environmentally friendly credentials; not least the central ‘green’ and its city centre location enabling residents to enjoy a low impact lifestyle.
