New Instruction – AECB Silver Standard

Element Sustainability have been appointed by Willmott Dixon Housing to form part of the design team to ensure their forthcoming development for Wigan and Leigh Homes at Wigan Road.  The scheme will comprise twelve highly energy efficient new build homes that will be designed to achieve the onerous AECB Silver standard.

In order to demonstrate that the AECB Silver Standard has been met, we will provide a range of technical services comprising PassivHaus (PHPP) calculations, dynamic simulation modelling to ensure the dwellings are not at risk of overheating, design input to limit air leakage and a suite of onsite testing as well as Part L 2013 compliance calculations.  The dwellings will incorporate a super fabric specification that will be determined by the output of the various modelling exercises.
