London to add 1,500 EV charging points

Transport for London has allocated almost £4.5m for the installation of 1,500 electric vehicle charging points across twenty-five boroughs. The move is part of plans to reduce emissions and tackle illegal levels of air pollution, which are responsible for 9,000 premature deaths in the capital every year. Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, said: “We have a bold ambition to make London’s transport system zero-emissions by 2050, and more charging infrastructure is a vital part of making this happen.
