New Instruction – Carbon Budget Statement – Commercial Unit

Element Sustainability has been appointed by Washington Mills to provide a Carbon Budget Statement. This will support the planning application for the proposed scheme at Mosley Road West, Trafford. The scheme will comprise of a single large industrial unit (21,528 square ft).

Trafford Council’s local development framework requires major built development to demonstrate how they will seek to minimise their contribution towards and/or mitigate their effects on climate change, in line with both national standards and local opportunities and programmes.

This site falls within the Trafford Park Low Carbon Growth Area. The Council expects that all new major development in this area will deliver a 15% CO2 emission reduction.  This emissions reduction target will be determined within the Statement having calculated the regulated emissions associated with the proposed scheme by completing SBEM models for the development.
