The long anticipated BREEAM New Construction V7 is here with registrations now open! As of 27th January 2026, this will supersede the current New Construction V 6.1. The update aims to align with industry objectives with an emphasis on whole-life carbon, biodiversity, resilience and material selection, while reducing complexity and delivering efficiencies across the assessment process.
Version 7 is a significant update to how new construction non-domestic buildings will be assessed and awarded BREEAM certification, and we fully support the launch of the new technical manual in ensuring BREEAM continues to push projects beyond building regulation standards to future-proof buildings and enhance their long-term value. However, we recognise the commercial implications that it could cause for some of your projects that may be in their initial brief or concept design stages.
Should you wish to register your project on the current Version 6.1, we remind our current and future clients to register their projects ahead of 27th January 2026.
