Element Sustainability are delighted to confirm that the major refurbishment and new build extension works to the Havelock office building at 70 Great Bridgewater Street, Manchester has been certified as BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ at post-construction. The scheme comprised the strip back of the existing building to the frame, complete high specification Cat A refurbishment and upper floor extension to create additional office space.
Havelock was created to offer flexible working environments with complimentary social, wellbeing and co-working spaces. The building has been designed to the highest possible standards to provide a sustainable work place, helping occupiers to meet their own ESG and Net Zero standards (https://havelockmcr.co.uk/sustainability/).
Element Sustainability acted, not only as the Lead BREEAM Assessor but, also as the BREEAM Accredited Professional, providing additional support and guidance throughout the project from Concept Design Stage until Handover.
We are pleased to confirm that this is the first major refurbishment scheme in the North of England to achieve this accolade and is one of Manchester’s most sustainable buildings. This scheme represents the very best in terms of building design and overall sustainable performance, with less than 1% of BREEAM assessments achieving the ‘Outstanding’ rating.
The achievement of the ‘Outstanding’ rating is the result of a massive effort from the whole design and project team, and Element Sustainability would like to congratulate and thank the team for their substantial efforts in securing the targeted rating!
We wanted to give a shout out to the project team for their efforts to the following teams to get this assessment across the line:
