New Instruction – BREEAM Assessment and Consultancy Services

Element Sustainability received a second commission from Purcell to provide BREEAM assessment and consultancy services for the station development in Caernarfon, North Wales.

The proposals for the Caernarfon Station site include a new station building including; cafe and retail shop along with activity and learning spaces. The site will act as a as a terminus for the Welsh Highland Railway, the ‘Gateway to Snowdonia’.

A single BREEAM assessment Other Building, Visitor Centre will be carried out under BREEAM New Construction 2014.

A BREEAM Pre-Assessment will be completed by one of our qualified licenced BREEAM Assessors, who will personally take this project through to project completion. Extensive consultation with the Design Team will take place to determine the best way to achieve the ‘Excellent’ BREEAM rating, as required by the  funding criteria. The BREEAM target rating of ‘Excellent’ represents a performance equivalent to the top 10% of UK commercial buildings.

Having agreed the assessment approach we will work closely with the design team to assess the proposed development, providing support and advice through to through to project completion.
