The BRE are in the final stage of preparing the BREEAM New Construction 2018 scheme and are beginning the countdown to the scheme going live at the beginning of March 2018.
Key dates for the launch of BREEAM UK NC 2018 and close of the 2014 scheme are:
7 March 2018 – Publication of BREEAM UK NC 2018 final manual and go-live for registrations against the new scheme.
23 March 2018 – Close of BREEAM UK NC 2014 scheme registrations.
We would advise developers to review current (and potential) projects where required and register these as early as possible ahead of the 23rd March deadline. This will ensure that the appropriate projects can be assessed and certified to the current 2014 scheme version, with its registration and certification fees. Our In house BREEAM Assessors will be able to assist with registrations and further advise on the new BREEAM methodology.
After the closing date it may still be possible to register assessments against the BREEAM UK NC 2014 scheme but only under certain circumstances and additional evidence will be required to justify this. For example, if there is a contractual obligation to use BREEAM NC 2014 version to satisfy a funding or planning condition.
